Gary D'Souza

Senior Lead, Global Manufacturing Engineering Applications, AGCO

Eleven years after joining AGCO, D'Souza moved his career south to Porto Alegre, Brazil to implement a product lifecycle management (PLM) system across the company's six Brazilian factories. Implementing new technology in any existing system is no easy feat... doing it in a different country in a new language is even harder.

While adjusting to Brazilian culture and his new workplace was a transition, D'Souza enjoyed it. "People are just so friendly," he says. "They're so open to change and technology, which is great because that's what I'm there to do."

Despite the challenging nature of his role, D'Souza says getting team members on board with new technology is one of the most rewarding parts of his job.

"You have to understand where they're coming from and do your best to show them the results," he explains. "That's where everybody's point of view changes; when they can actually see something working and realize how it's going to change their daily jobs or help them achieve something."
