Penni Boxall

President, Sure Flow Equipment Inc.

Penni Boxall started her career at Sure Flow Equipment 25 years ago working on invoicing and inventory. After shifting to be more heavily involved in the company's accounting, she later became IT manager in addition to overseeing accounting.

Two years ago, she was named company president — the first female president in Sure Flow's history.

Throughout her career at Sure Flow, Penni has played a role in every department except for sales; she credits this diverse experience for her ability to quickly grasp her new role as company president. As evidenced by her unique ascent to her executive role, Penni didn't take the conventional route in her career; while she did take educational courses to expand her understanding of the business, the majority of her learning happened while on the job.

"I started working right out of high school," Penni says. "Really, everything I learned was from doing and learning that way, [by] watching other people. I  think you start from the ground up and you keep working. Sure, you're going to make mistakes, but you're going to learn from them."
